DETAILLIERTER REISEVERLAUF

Da die Reise mit englischsprachiger Leitung durchgeführt wird, haben wir auf eine Übersetzung des Reiseverlaufs verzichtet.

Day 1 Windhoek

Windhoek, with its lingering heritage of German architecture, activities and atmosphere is a city which can be visited throughout the year. The day is spent at leisure. We are met by our guide at the hotel reception for a briefing at +-18h00. Hotel Safari (or similar accommodation). (Dinner own arrangements).

Day 2/3/4 Etosha National Park

This Park is one of the most important reserves and game sanctuaries in Africa. Thousands of wild animals are attracted to the area, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, several species of antelopes, zebras, giraffes, etc. The birdlife is prolific with 326-recorded species. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are enjoyed with the evenings spent watching an amazing diversity of animals around the floodlit waterhole bordering our campsites. Standard Mobile Safari (All meals).

Day Owamboland

We drive through ‘Owamboland’ which consists of communal farming land of the Oshiwambo people. Alongside the main road there is a canal – a vital water supply during the heat of the dry season. Driving by, we pass women carrying water back to their houses, while others wash and children splash around to cool off. We stop to view a giant Baobab tree that once functioned as a church. Standard Mobile Safari (All meals)

Day 6 Kaokoland - Himba Visit - Epupa Falls

The Epupa Falls are a series of cascades where the Kunene River drops 60m in 1.5km forming a multitude of channels and rock pools. A variety of birds occur in the area. Standard Mobile Safari (All meals).

Day 7 Kaokoland - Opuwo

During the morning we visit a Himba village to familiarize ourselves with their way of life. The Himbas are a semi-nomadic tribe, who live in scattered settlements throughout the region. We depart Epupa Falls after lunch and arrive in Opuwo, the capital of Kaokoland, in the afternoon. Ohakane Lodge (or similar accommodation). (All meals)

On our way to Swakopmund, we visit Cape Cross Seal Colony, one of the largest mainland seal colonies in the world.
